WHAT IS THE AMOUNT OF THE CREDIT UNDER THE 45L TAX PROGRAM?
The credit is $2,500 per dwelling unit built under the Energy Star Residential New Construction Program.
The credit is $5000 when a dwelling unit meets both the Energy Star Residential New Construction Program and is certified as a DOE Zero Energy Ready Home.
WHO CAN CLAIM THE 45L TAX CREDIT?
The builder/developer must own the land and build the dwelling. Dwelling units that are sold or rented after 2022 are eligible for the credits. Owner/builder occupied homes do not qualify.
HOW DO I FIND A 45L ELIGIBLE CERTIFIER?
Only a certified HERS Rater can verify the installed energy features and Energy Star certification to produce a 45L Tax Certificate using DOE approved software. Richard Costello, owner of Arkansas Home Performance, is a qualified HERS Rater.
